A truck in the lane in front of several others suddenly came to a halt, a van behind that truck suddenly stopped in traffic, Carol's truck slammed into the van and then a petroleum tanker truck struck Carol's truck from behind.

Carol got out of his truck to see what damage had occurred. The male driver of the tanker truck behind him was calling for help. He was trapped by his steering wheel which was pressing into his chest.

A video of the accident scene shows Carol Bujold frantically running from one side of the burning truck to the other, with a crowbar, trying to pry open the tanker's doors in order to free the trapped driver.

The heat and flames were too much to bear and an explosion could have been

Jenna Gazzola, age 34, died on or before April 18, 2016, at her apartment in the Corktown District of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Jenna Gazzola
Hamilton is about 45 miles southwest of Toronto, Canada.

Tragically, Jenna was found deceased on April 19, 2016.  Her dog had been found wandering the hallways of the apartment building which led the caretaker to call the police.

Shane Shakeshaft, age 27, who lived on the same floor of the apartment building as Jenna, has been charged with first degree murder.

However, how does it happen that a door is forced in, in an apartment building, and no one hears the commotion?  No one steps outside of their apartment door to see what is happening on their floor? No one intervenes or calls the police?

God save us from an increasingly disconnected and unconcerned society.

If you have any information about this crime, you are urged to call the Hamilton Police Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit tips online at crimestoppershamilton.com.

Jenna was originally from Guelph, Ontario.

~Speak to a friend or a family member who you know is calm and who will not exacerbate the situation.
~Speak to a priest, a pastor or someone you trust.
~On the Internet, look up "crisis line" for your state or province and telephone them. They will have counsellors on the line who can talk to you about your situation.

He is reported to be in his early 30's.

His body was found on February 4, 2016, near a city pier in the waters of Lake Ontario.

all three have prior criminal records and are prohibited from owning firearms.

Camille Runke - a victim of domestic murder in Winnipeg, Canada

Camille
Camille Runke, age 49, died on October 30, 2015, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Reports from Winnipeg are sketchy and conflicting. It has been reported that Camille died outside of her place of work or at her home.

However, during the morning of October 30, Camille was shot and killed by her ex-husband, Kevin Runke, age 46.

Kevin Runke fled the scene and 3 days later his vehicle was spotted by police in a rural area about 45 miles south of Winnipeg. The Police attempted to stop him but he drove off the road and into a wooded area. Tragically, he shot and killed himself inside of his car.

Friends and loved ones of Camille state that she underwent months of harrassment and abuse from her husband.

She had a restraining order against Kevin Runke. They were in the middle of a divorce. He had tried to flood her basement in the middle of the night. He was charged with that crime and was due in court on November 9, 2015.

Friends stated that Kevin harrassed Camille relentlessly - putting nails on the street that she drove on to get to work, breaking her car windows, and cutting the oil and brake lines of her car. He often sent her threatening emails.

When friends heard of Camille's death, they stated: "He finally got her."

Kevin's former employer stated that Kevin had been happy and was a good employee before everything fell apart in his personal life. He was eventually fired at the end of June, 2015.

There is a huge lack of police resources in all cities in North America. However, domestic abuse requires a great deal more attention from the police than what is currently available. Who else can help a woman who is being continually threatened by a man, if not the police?

Hindsight is 20-20 and it is easy to come up with advice after the fact.
Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, who
said: "I am ground like a grain of
wheat.", pray for Camille and
for all who are ground down by
domestic abuse.
However, if you are experiencing a relationship breakdown and feel that you are getting out of control because of it:

~Speak to a friend or a family member who you know is calm and who will not exacerbate the situation.
~Speak to a priest, a pastor or someone you trust.
~Go to the local hospital's emergency room and say that you are losing it and that you need help. You may need psychological counselling. You may need strong prescription drugs to calm you down.
~Do anything you can to prevent yourself from murdering the person you once loved.

Camille's friends and loved ones are devastated over her senseless and tragic death.

Camille is survived by many loving friends and family members. She will be forever mourned.

God save us from those who once said that they love us and then kill us. Amen.

Pray that Camille is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Jackson - a good kid in Toronto, Canada

In a world full of sorrows, it is heart-warming to come across a human interest story that reaffirms one's trust in the future generation.

Librarians at the main branch of the Toronto Public Library found a note attached to a comic book that had been returned. The comic book was torn on one page. It could be repaired with a single strip of tape.

The comic book had been borrowed from the library by "Jackson", who wrote a note addressed to "The Library".

The note from Jackson said:  "I am sorry that a page ripped when it fell out of my bunk when I fell asleep reading. It won’t happen again. I’m sorry. From Jackson.”

Librarians at the branch stated that parents sometimes apologize to staff members if their children have damaged a book, but rarely is a note received from the child involved.

You have to love this kid saying that "It won't happen again", as if falling asleep while reading was somehow his fault.

The library staff posted an entry on their Facebook page that said:  "Here’s to many more nights falling asleep with a good book, Jackson!”

The library staff were quite impressed with Jackson and so are we.

Jackson's loved ones are raising this boy with a sense of responsibility and accountability. Both of these traits are greatly needed in our world.

God bless Jackson and all children on this planet. Amen.

André Creel and Jean-Michel Gélinas - Good Samaritans in Montreal, Canada

Jean-Michel Gélinas (L); André Creel (R)
Just before midnight on March 12, 2015, a woman inadvertently fell onto the subway tracks at the Jarry Metro station in Montreal, Quebec.

She was unconscious and was bleeding.

Three men were standing on the subway station platform and heard people calling for help.

The men could hear a train coming in the distance. They jumped down onto the tracks at great risk to their lives. Some of these rails are electrified with 750 volts which can easily kill you.

Two of the men are André Creel, age 27, and Jean-Michel Gélinas, age 29. The third man did not give his name to reporters.

The men all said that they reacted in the heat of the moment. They saw someone in

need and responded automatically without thinking.  It was just the human thing to do.

They were able to pull the woman up to the platform and called transit staff who quickly arrived and stabilized the woman who had suffered a head injury.

Transit authorities are happy that the woman is okay but state that if a situation like this arises, you should use a Metro emergency phone to communicate directly with the underground control centre. The control centre can cut the current and stop oncoming trains. An emergency phone is found on every subway platform. There is also a lever at the phone station that you can pull to cut the power to the tracks.

God bless André Creel, Jean-Michel Gélinas and the unnamed man who came to the aid of this woman. They are Good Samaritans.

God knows that we need more men like them on this Earth.
