Does anybody really care?

Today, we were looking on the internet and came across this small article from August 24, 2011, as follows:
Why is this, God?

"Twelve people, among them six policemen, were killed and 14 others wounded in a series of attacks across Iraq on Wednesday, (August 24, 2011) security and hospital officials said.  Six policemen were killed when a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle packed with explosives Wednesday night at a police checkpoint in Ramadi, 100 kilometres (60 miles) west of Baghdad, an officer said, adding that there were also an unspecified number of wounded."

Every day, Azrael,
the Angel of Death,
searches for the
names of the dead,
and finds them.
Some of us die naturally,
as all flesh is grass,
and some of us are killed
by our own kind.
God help us.
Father, lead all souls
to Heaven.
After we read this today, we thought "does anybody really care?" The names of these people will never be published in Iraq or in the Western Media. These dead are just statistics. They are just numbers. No one will list their names and no one will post their pictures. They are going to be forgotten in the great scheme of things.

How can a human life be reduced to a statistic?

These people were human souls and were sons and husbands and fathers and brothers and uncles to someone. They were killed by a suicide bomber who decided to take away the lives of strangers. They kill you, but they don't even know you.

God save us from the religious and political freaks who bring death to strangers. Help us, Father.
