Christian Aguilar - missing in Florida

Christian Aguilar - missing

Christian Aguilar, age 18, of Gainesville, Florida, is missing. 

He has not been seen alive since September 20, 2012. His body has not been found. 

Pedro Bravo, age 18, has been charged with Christian's murder by the Gainesville Police Department and is being held without bond.

The two young men had previously had an altercation on the evening of Sept. 20. Pedro Bravo stated that he left Christian at a parking lot on that date.

However, shortly prior to this, Pedro Bravo purchased a roll of duct tape and a shovel, which is not a normal shopping experience for a boy of age 18. For what purpose did he buy these items? 

According to police, Pedro Bravo and Christian Aguilar were seeing the same female, and the two fought over her.

These two boys had also been competitive over the craziest of things which is the acceptance to a particular college. Christian Aguilar was accepted into a college that Pedro was rejected from.

It has been reported that Pedro Bravo told three versions of his encounter with Christian Aguilar when he was last seen alive:

(1) they talk 
(2) Pedro Bravo strikes Christian Aguilar
(3) Pedro Bravo beats Christian Aguilar unconscious.

Carl Manley

British Capt. Carl Manley, age 41, died on September 24, 2012, at Bagram Air Force Base, Afghanistan. 

He was with the Royal Marines. 

Carl died of natural causes. 

Military officials describe Carl as a devoted husband and father who had served his nation with dedication and courage for more than 20 years. He is also described as having a ferocious work ethic and also as being humble. They stated that he will never be forgotten by his comrades.

Family members stated that to them Carl was the loveliest husband and father. They are devastated by his death. They are very proud of him and all that he achieved professionally and for his family. 

Carl is also described as always smiling, unselfish and eager. 

Carl is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife and 3 children.

Justin Townsend - Firefighter - Delaware

Junior Firefighter Justin Townsend, age 17, died on September 27, 2012, north of Selbyville, Delaware.

Justin was a junior member of the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Department. He had one year of service with the Department. 

Justin was dispatched to an outside fire in a wooded area just outside of town limits. While en route to Station 73 in a personal vehicle, Justin Townsend was fatally injured in a motor vehicle crash. He was a passenger in a pick-up truck. The driver of the truck, John Morton Jr., was treated for minor injuries and released from hospital. 

The vehicle spun out on a curve and struck a utility pole. Justin was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. It has not been determined if speed is a factor in this crash.

Justin was in the 11th grade at Sussex Tech High School. He was due to be voted into the volunteer fire department's senior membership next month after completing all state training to be an interior firefighter. 

Fire Department officials stated that Justin was a good guy who liked to help others and that he will be greatly missed. 

Justin is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his father who is also a volunteer firefighter.

Pray for all who die young and suddenly. They are with us one minute and gone the next.

Jonathan Gollnitz

Sgt. Jonathan A. Gollnitz, age 28, of Fredonia, New York, died on September 26, 2012, in Pul-E Alam, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when an insurgent wearing a suicide vest detonated the device near his patrol.

He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Schweinfurt, Germany.

Military officials stated that Jonathan quickly filled a gap in the platoon's junior leadership. Bringing a quiet professionalism to his work, he was able to build a strong team of soldiers that trusted and respected him. He was able to communicate with soldiers on a personal level and would often speak of his son and his plans for the future.

Jonathan attended the Fredonia Central School District through the 11th grade before transferring to Levant Christian School in Falconer, where he graduated in 2003.  Soon after, he joined the military.

He first joined the Navy, where he served for five years.  He then enlisted in the Army and most recently was stationed in Germany.

He had been in Afghanistan for several months and had previsouly been injured. In July of 2012, he injured his leg after jumping out of a Humvee that was under attack.

Family members stated that Jonathan loved his family.

High school officials describe him as a positive influence in the school and a pleasure to have in class.  

Jonathan is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Allen and Kimberly; his brothers - Kirk, Chad, Tyler, Nick and Noah; his ex-wife and their 4 year old son, Lucas.

Orion Sparks

Staff Sgt. Orion N. Sparks, age 29, of Tucson, Arizona, died on September 26, 2012, in Pul-E Alam, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when an insurgent wearing a suicide vest detonated the device near his patrol.

He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Schweinfurt, Germany. 

Military officials describe Orion Sparks as a contagious optimist who was always in good spirits.

It was also stated that he could relate to soldiers on a personal level and helped guide them through life.  He was an outstanding trainer of soldiers and a leader who was not afraid to get his hands dirty and lead from the front – a true NCO to the end. He was a cornerstone in Anvil Troop.

He will be greatly missed by his comrades.

Ali Dalton - murdered in Utah

Ali Dalton, age 28, died on September 22, 2012, in Taylorsville, Utah.

Ali was murdered by her boyfriend, who then went to a public park and killed himself.

The two had been together for 2 years and the relationship had never been violent before this, despite the fact that the relationship was now over.

Ali graduated from Granite High School in 2002. She married Derek Dalton and they had 2 children who were both born in Salt Lake City.

The family of Ali stated that they are suffering over their loss. They very kindly stated that this suffering also extends to the family of the boyfriend.

Family members stated that Ali had a way of bringing family and friends together. She was just one of these people that come along once in a lifetime that people tend to gravitate to, her sense of humor would make you want to be around her. Her presence changed everyone she knew, forever.

She enjoyed doing bead work and making jewelry, Facebook, reading, writing poetry, and shopping. Most of all, Ali loved her children and her family. She had a very bubbly personality and was always laughing. She will be greatly missed. 

Ali was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 

Ali is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her parents Loni Mishelle (Richard) Iker and Evan Banks, and Scott and Leslie Duke; sisters, Jessica, Scotlynn and Brittany.

Kenia Castillo-Reyes - murdered in the Bronx

Kenia Castillo-Reyes, age 43, died on September 25, 2012, on Coster Street, The Bronx New York. 

Kenia was on the street, outside of her apartment, when she got into an argument with her former boyfriend. He had recently gotten out of jail.  Kenia had an order of protection against him. 

Kenia was shot four times, including once in the head. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition where she was pronounced dead. This incident happened in the vicinity of a day care center. 

Family members said that the former boyfriend was obsessed with Kenia.

Kevin, her son, describes Kenia as awesome. She was always worried, she was always on top of her things. She always just made sure we were fed, we were good. Then he choked up with tears at the loss of his mother. 

The Hispanic community in the neighborhood stated that women who file protection orders or restraining orders against former husbands or partners, are not really protected by the police.

Kenia is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her teenaged son, Kevin; and her teenaged daughter.

Six month old girl - died in the car from the heat - Florida

Rosalyn Ramos, age 6 months, died on September 25, 2012, in Miami, Florida.

Her father, Lazaro Ramos, was driving Rosalyn to daycare and his other children to their school. 

Lazaro Ramos dropped off his older children at their school and then drove to work.  He forgot that Rosalyn  was in the back seat and that he was supposed to drop her off at the daycare.  

Taking care of Rosalyn was not part of his normal morning routine.

But no one looked in the back seat?

Rosalyn spent about 9 hours strapped into her car seat in the back of a vehicle that could have reached 150 degrees F. within an hour. She was discovered when Lazaro Ramos picked up his son at school. When Rosalyn was discovered, her father, Lazaro, collapsed in shock. 

Rosalyn was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead. 

Rosalyn is survived by many loving family members. 

Hurry/Hurry in the 21st Century

This was a tragic accident.  It has yet to be determined if criminal negligence is a factor.  This vehicle is small and it is hard to imagine leaving it and then re-entering it hours later and not seeing what is happening in the back seat. 

This tragedy is a sign of our times - people rushing, working, floundering, harried and hurried and harassed, with no time to even look around them for 1 minute. People look but they do not see. 

God save us from this Age.

Katia Hadouchi - Law Enforcement - Quebec

Constable Katia Hadouchi, age 23, died in the line of duty on September 26, 2012, in Saint Ambroise de Kildare, Quebec, Canada.

Katia was a member of the Sûreté du Québec. She had two years of service at the Matawinie office.

She was en route to pick up her partner after getting a 911 call concerning domestic abuse. She was alone in her patrol car. At approximately 7:00 p.m., she lost control of the car and it left the roadway, crashing into a tree. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. It has not been determined if speed was a factor in the crash. 

She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, but died overnight. 

Her comrades are in mourning over her tragic death. 

Katia is survived by many loving friends and relatives, who will forever miss her.

Chris Schaub - Law Enforcement - Florida

Deputy Sheriff Chris Schaub, age 47, died in the line of duty on September 26, 2012, in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Chris was a member of the Broward County Sheriff's Office. He had 22 years of service.

At about 2:30 p.m., Chris's motorcycle collided head-on with a car at a busy intersection in Pompano Beach.  The female driver of the automobile received only minor injuries. 

Chris was flown to Broward Health Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries approximately four hours later.

Sheriff's Office officials stated that Chris is remembered as a fighter. His heart gave out six times, and he was brought back to life; He kept struggling and struggling until the point where he couldn't struggle anymore.

Chris belonged to a fraternity of motorcycle officers - a group who showed up in force outside the hospital, some from police agencies in Palm Beach County, awaiting word on Chris's condition. 

Chris will be greatly missed by his comrades. 

Chris is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his daughter and his son, who also serves as a deputy with the Sheriff's office.

Dion Roberts

Gunners Mate 2nd Class Dion Rashun Roberts, age 23, of North Chicago, Illinois, died on September 22, 2012, as a result of a single vehicle accident in Jalalabad, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to an East Coast Naval Special Warfare Unit. 

Dion graduated from North Chicago High School in 2005. He enlisted in the Navy during his senior year after participating in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.

High school officials describe Dion as a team leader who was well-liked by his peers. He is also described as having a great character and being really friendly.

Friends describe him as charismatic, sarcastic and a jokester. 

Family stated that he lived life to the fullest and never took life for granted. They describe him as charming and outgoing. 

Dion is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his parents, Jackie and Denise Roberts; and his sister, Jaleesa Roberts.

Mary Ricard - Law Enforcement - Colorado

Sergeant Mary Ricard, age 55, died in the line of duty on September 24, 2012, in Crowley, Colorado.

Mary was a member of the Colorado Department of Corrections. She had 9 years of service with this department.

Mary was killed when she and another correction's sergeant, Lori Gann, were attacked by an inmate at the facility.

The inmate attacked the two in the kitchen area of the medium-security prison while breakfast was being served. The inmate was able to inflict serious stab wounds on both sergeants before being subdued. Sergeant Ricard succumbed to her injuries while the other sergeant remains in critical condition.

Apparently Mary Ricard was at the corrections facility on her day off - the day she was killed. 

Prison Officials describe her as a great person, who was dedicated to her job. 

Mary is survived by many loving friends and relatives.

Akiya Egeston - Murdered on the job - Arkansas

Akiya Egeston, age 29, died on September 22, 2012, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. 

She was a convenience store clerk.  At about 9:00 p.m., three men entered an EZ Mart on the 3100 block of MacArthur to rob the store. 

The three were unable to open the safe and left the store. Then one man returned and shot Akiya Egeston, who was working at the store as a clerk. 

One of these men may have been involved in another armed robbery of a gas station in Jacksonville, hours after the killing of Akiya. 

If you can identify any of the suspects, you are asked to contact Detective Michael Gibbons with the North Little Rock Police Department. EZ Mart is offering a $10,000 award for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.

James Townley

British Captain James Townley, age 29, died on September 21, 2012, in Camp Bastion, Helmand Province, in southern Afghanistan from wounds sustained while serving at forward operating base Shawqat. 

He was with the Corps of Royal Engineers. He was on this third tour of Afghanistan. He was last deployed to Afghanistan on September 5, 2011, with 4 Armoured Engineer Squadron, 21 Engineer Regiment.

His death is being investigated as a suicide.

James was born in Tunbridge Wells and grew up near Glastonbury, in Somerset. 

James had attended University College, Oxford, and was awarded a first class degree in engineering and computer science.

He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed a wide variety of sports including skiing, mountain biking, kite surfing, sailing and rowing. 

Military officials describe him as unbelievably clever, an exceptional officer and a great character. He is also described as professional and charismatic. 

Family describe him as their guardian angel, their hero and a loving son and brother. 

James is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Peter and Jacqui; his brother, Nick; and his girlfriend, Helen.

Jonathan Kups

British soldier Sgt. Jonathan Kups, age 38, from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, died on September 21, 2012, at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. He did not die from enemy fire. 

The cause of Jon's death has not been determined as of this date. 

Jon was a member of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. He joined the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in June 1992, training as an electronics technician. He specialised in the early years of his career in radar and ground to air weapons, completing an operational tour in Northern Ireland. 

In 2011, Sgt Kups moved to 104 Force Support Battalion REME before being attached to 4 Close Support Battalion REME. 

Military officials stated that Jon was a man of substance. His nickname was "Koops". They describe him as a real character, with a dry wit who was a pleasure to work with. He is also described as very popular.

Family members describe him as a wonderful husband and loving father. Family members said that he was a loyal man with a wide circle of friends and was a devoted son, son-in-law, grandson and brother.

His military comrades stated that Jon will be forever missed. 

Many people are praying that Jon Kups is with Our Father. 

Jonathan is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, his wife and their three children.

Elias Garcia Martinez did a fresco of Christ more than a century ago in a church in Borja, Spain. He was born in 1858 and died in 1934. 

Over time, this fresco became damaged and it was repaired by an 80 year old woman, Mrs. Cecilia Gimenez,  in 2012.

Because this repair was so bizarre and so ruinous, it became a popular tourist attraction. 

Now Cecilia wants a share of the royalties of the visitors to this church, and wants any money made from the re-painting to go towards Muscular atrophy charities, because her son suffers from the condition. 

We don't think so Cecilia... It is tragic that a work of art was ruined.  It really wasn't about attracting attention for your son's medical condition.  It was about preserving art.

Demetra Doyle Heard - Murdered in Louisiana

Demetra Doyle Heard, age 35, died on September 15, 2012, in Eunice, Louisiana.

She was murdered. There was a struggle before Demetra died. She was stabbed numerous times.

Her husband, Robert Heard, age 34, is under arrest for this crime. They had gotten married two months ago. 

Demetra is described as a caring mother and a hard worker. Her nickname was "Meme". Friends say that she always had a smile on her face. Family members describe her as a good woman all around.

On the surface it seemed that Demetra and Robert had a good marriage. But how can you have a good marriage with a murderer and a criminal from the get-go?  

Demetra made a fatal mistake in not searching out information about Robert Heard when she started dating him. And if she did know about his past, she fatally chose to ignore it. 

Robert Heard was convicted of murder in 1993 when he was only 15 years old. He shot and killed a fellow classmate at Reseda High School in Reseda, California. The victim was 17-year-old Michael Ensley. Robert Heard was committed to a juvenile corrections facility until 2002.

Then in 2003, he was convicted of attempted first-degree murder and sent to prison. He spent eight more years behind bars and was released on parole in July 2011.

And then he met Demetra, his third victim. 

Advice to women: Look up your prospective boyfriends, lovers and husbands-to-be on the Internet. It takes a few minutes to pour over the data that comes up.  This data could save your life or at least your happiness. 

If the search results say that your loved one "John Doe" is a murderer, con artist, sex offender, bigamist, stalker, or some other sort of freak...don't walk away.....Run away as fast as you can.

Demetra is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her 3 sons, ages 12 to 18. 

Pray that the killer of Demetra Doyle is brought to justice.

Mitch Comer - Teenage Boy starved in Georgia

Mitch Comer, age 18, from Paulding County, Georgia, was found frail, alone and disoriented at a bus station in downtown Los Angeles on September 11, 2012.

The Los Angeles Police officers who found him stated that his skin was translucent and that Mitch was obviously malnourished. 

Mitch is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 97 pounds. 

When questioned about his circumstances, Mitch stated that his mother Sheila Comer, age 39, and his stepfather, Paul Comer, age 48, in Paulding County, Georgia, had kept him locked up in a bedroom for about 4 years. 

Pray that these two freaks receive justice in this
world and in the next. 

He had attended Woodstock and Creekland middle schools in Cherokee County between October 2007 and April 2009 before disappearing from the school system. 

His two half-sisters, it is believed, have never attended school. 

This family had lived in their current house for about two years and the neighbors had no idea that they even had a son!

It appears that they starved him, kept him locked up, isolated, out of school and uneducated and then put him on a bus and told him to get lost.

There is nothing "alleged" about this case of abuse.  He didn't lock himself up and starve himself.  Nor did his 2 younger half sisters do this to him.  It was the parents. 

No doubt these two shit-heads will come up with a thousand reasons why they had to discipline, starve, and abuse this boy, from age 14 on.  If they couldn't have handled him for any reason, they should have turned him over to Child Protective Services where he would have had a chance at finding a decent home and a chance at life. 

God save us from parents who starve and abuse us. Amen

Remington Barron - Law Enforcement - Utah

Police Officer Remington Barron, age 28, of Spanish Fork, Utah, died on September 21, 2012, on a highway near Springville, Utah. 

Remington was a member of the Sandy Police Department. He worked as a patrol division officer. He had two years of service with the Department. 

Remington was off duty and was returning home on his motorcycle when he entered an overnight construction zone where men were working. He crashed into a freeway construction vehicle at about 2:00 a.m.. The construction vehicle, a pick-up truck allegedly pulled out in front of him. The driver of the pickup did not see the motorcycle approaching.

Remington was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. He was taken to a local hospital with head trauma. He passed away at about 8:00 a.m. 

Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in this fatal collision.

Police officials stated that Remington loved doing police work. He was enthusiastic and energetic. He was a valued member of the Department and he will be missed by his police comrades.

Remington is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife and their two children.

Jason Gresko - Law Enforcement - Ohio

Police Officer Jason Gresko, age 32, died in the line of duty on September 21, 2012, in Willoughby, Ohio.

Jason was a member of the Willoughby Police Department. He had 9 years of service with the Department.  Previously he had served for six years as a Cleveland Clinic police officer. Before that, he served the Timberlake Police Department as an officer for one year.

Jason was responding to an emergency call at approximately 9:35 p.m., when his patrol car collided with a pickup truck and then struck a tree, causing serious injuries. He was transported to Lake West Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

Jason grew up in Eastlake. He was a 1999 graduate from Eastlake North High School and graduated from Tri-C's Police Academy in 2002.

He was the 2009 Willoughby Police Officer of the Year. Jason took great pride in his profession. He was proud to be a cop.

Family members stated that Jason was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He is also described as having a great sense of humor.  He was a hero to his family. 

Jason is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Pamela and his father, Nicholas; his siblings Nicholas, Carol, George and Brett; his wife Sandra Mae; and his daughter, Olivia Mae.

Sgt. Jason M. Swindle, age 24, of Cabot, Arkansas, died on September 20, 2012, in Panjwa’l, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when he encountered enemy, small arms fire. 

Jason was assigned to 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia. 

He graduated from Cabot High School in 2006 and went straight to the Army with his older brother, Sam.

Jason served two tours of duty in Iraq and was on his third tour in Afghanistan. 

Friends stated that he was a good soldier, leader and a man who will be missed by all who knew him.

Others stated that he always made the best of every situation and always made people smile.

Family members said they are proud of Jason and of his service. They said that he was fearless.

Jason was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

Jason is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his brothers Sam and John; his wife Chelsey and their 1 year old son, Paxton. Chelsey is pregnant with their second son. 

Let us pray that Jason Swindle is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Kris Doubledee - a True Samaritan - Winnipeg

Kris Doubledee, age 38, a City of Winnipeg Transit bus driver, performed an act of love and charity on September 18, 2012, which has gained world-wide attention.

Passengers on a Winnipeg City bus on a busy downtown route, reported to the media that Kris had pulled the bus to the curb on the morning of September 18th, called to a man on the sidewalk, went out to the man and then gave the man his shoes because the man was barefoot and it was cold. Kris then went back to his bus and drove it in his sock feet. 

When a passenger asked him why he was so generous as to give his own shoes to a stranger, Kris replied "I couldn't stand seeing someone walking barefoot in this temperature."

He had seen the man walking without shoes the day before and couldn't bear to see him walking barefoot again. 

Kris has a deep faith in God that guides his day-to-day actions. He'll often offer up prayers for the people he sees. "It's kind of a thing with me. I see somebody with a disability or a need, I try to take their pain away or pray they find relief." He prayed the first time he saw the shoeless man. When he saw him the second day, he thought that was a sign to get involved.

"The first time I saw him I asked the Lord 'Can you take his pain away?' The next day, it's like God put him there. I pulled over the bus. I knew I had to help him."

Kris doesn't belong to a church or really have much to do with organized religion.  Maybe he cares more about positive and loving action than religious dogma and ritual.

Kris Doubledee isn't a Saint. But his act of kindness is a saintly act - the giving of yourself to others. 

Kris sort of thinks that everyone would do this.  No, everyone would not really do this.  It takes a special kind of person to take the shoes off of their feet and to give them to another.  It takes a special kind of person to love strangers on the street.
