Ali was murdered by her boyfriend, who then went to a public park and killed himself.
The two had been together for 2 years and the relationship had never been violent before this, despite the fact that the relationship was now over.
Ali graduated from Granite High School in 2002. She married Derek Dalton and they had 2 children who were both born in Salt Lake City.
The family of Ali stated that they are suffering over their loss. They very kindly stated that this suffering also extends to the family of the boyfriend.

Family members stated that Ali had a way of bringing family and friends together. She was just one of these people that come along once in a lifetime that people tend to gravitate to, her sense of humor would make you want to be around her. Her presence changed everyone she knew, forever.
She enjoyed doing bead work and making jewelry, Facebook, reading, writing poetry, and shopping. Most of all, Ali loved her children and her family. She had a very bubbly personality and was always laughing. She will be greatly missed.
Ali was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Ali is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her parents Loni Mishelle (Richard) Iker and Evan Banks, and Scott and Leslie Duke; sisters, Jessica, Scotlynn and Brittany.
God save us from those who say they love us but who then kill us. Amen.
Let us pray that Ali Dalton is in heaven. Let us pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
