Jeremie Border

Staff Sgt. Jeremie Border, age 28, of Mesquite, Texas, died on September 1, 2012, in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained from an insurgent attack. 

He was a Green Beret. 

Jeremie graduated from Mesquite High School in 2002. He was a 2006 graduate of McMurry University where he majored in sociology and communications and also played football for 4 years. He was also involved in the university's Servant Leadership program, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Makona Men's Social Club. He was a resident assistant and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

High school officials describe him as a team player.

Friends describe him as a great kid, intelligent and very active in sports. He is also their hero. 

Family members describe Jeremie as a special and loving young man who will be forever missed. 

Jeremie is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Mary Border; his stepfather, Robert Harris and his sister.

Kyle Rookey

Spc. Kyle R. Rookey, age 23, of Oswego, New York, died on September 2, in Jalalabad, Afghanistan from a non-combat related incident. 

He was assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.

The cause of his death has not been released as of this posting. 

He also lists his hometown as Rogers, Arkansas. He was a 2007 graduate of Oswego High School. He had been in the Army for 2 and 1/2 years and was a drone operator.

Kyle Rookey entered the Army on March 3, 2010, nearly three years after high school graduation. He joined his unit at Fort Carson on Jan. 7, 2011.  He deployed with his unit to Afghanistan on March 10, 2012.

Family members stated that Kyle enjoyed his job with his battalion and he was proud of what he did. He had always wanted to be involved in aircraft, even as a child.

Kyle wrote "I love my family and friends so much.  You all make me feel loved more than I deserve. I thank my wife for being just pure awesome, wonderful and gung ho on top of dealing with me … only a few more months left now … Then off to being a daddy and a hubby, hopefully successfully."

Kyle's high school teachers describe him as dedicated, a hard worker and a good person.

Kyle's honors include a National Defense Service Medal, an Army Service Ribbon and an Afghanistan Campaign Medal.

Kyle is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother Carol Sue Akers; his father, George Rookey; his brother, David Wallace; his sisters, Angela and Elizabeth; his wife, Victoria and their 11 month old daughter, Flora Kyleigh. 

Let us pray that Kyle Rookey is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Daily slaughter in Syria....

On August 28, 2012, rebel groups in Syria reported that up to 400 bodies had been found in the town of Daraya, south-west of the capital Damascus, in what appears to be the worst single massacre by government forces in the country's 17-month-old civil war.

Syrian government troops stormed the town and carried out house-to-house searches, killing everyone in their path. 

Every day when we watch the international news, we see that 32 Syrians are dead, 112 are dead, 46 are dead and this goes on day after day, month after month. 

No government will step in to blow Bashar Al-Assad off the map. They are afraid of China and Russia who support this dictator. But of course, China and Russia support this freak, because under the skin, they are dictatorships themselves and they like the activities of this dude. 

Pray without ceasing unto God, that Bashar Al-Assad leaves Syria. Pray that he goes to Russia where he has stashed the $6 Billion that he has stolen from his people. 

If he doesn't run to Russia, then pray that Bashar is visited by an Angel of God and pray that it is this angel. Amen. 

God help the Syrian people who die by the hundreds weekly. Amen

Every day that this man lives, hundreds die.  Including innocent women and children. 

God save us from Bashar Al-Assad, the Dictator.  Amen

God save the world from all dictators.  Amen.

Leide DeFusco - Law Enforcement - Colorado

Captain Leide DeFusco, age 43, died in the line of duty on August 31, 2012, in the San Isabel National Forest in Colorado. 

Leide was a member of the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, in Colorado. He had over 21 years of service in Law Enforcement with both the County and the City. 

He and John Barger, a retired Pueblo Police Department captain, were searching for marijuana grows in the Wet Mountains. A narcotics task force had raided two large marijuana plantations in the area two weeks earlier and the two were searching for additional grows nearby when radio contact was lost at approximately 9:30 am. A rescue team located the smoldering wreckage of the Piper Super Cruiser in rugged terrain in the San Isabel National Forest, approximately five miles below St. Charles Peak, in Custer County. Mr. Barger was an experienced pilot who provided flight services to local law enforcement agencies.

Leide was head of the patrol division, Colorado State University-Pueblo patrol and the narcotics unit. He was preparing to leave for the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy.

Leide is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife and 4 children.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.  They are with us one moment and gone the next.

Eric Workman - Law Enforcement - West Virginia

Trooper Eric Workman, age 26, died in the line of duty on August 31, 2012, in West Virginia. 

Eric was a member of the West Virginia State Police. He had 1 year and 8 months of service. 

On August 28, 2012, Eric and another trooper stopped a vehicle for reckless driving at the commuter parking lot adjacent to I-79, in Clay County, at approximately 8:30 pm. The troopers determined the subject was intoxicated and placed him under arrest. The subject was searched and placed in the back of the patrol car when he was able to reach a concealed 9mm pistol that was not discovered in the search. He shot both troopers inside of the vehicle and took a service weapon. After climbing out of the vehicle he shot a tow truck driver who had been called to the scene to impound his car. The tow truck driver was able to get away from the scene and call for help.

Gabriel, Archangel, pray for Eric

The subject then fled on foot and set up an ambush in a ditch. He later opened fire on officers from multiple agencies who responded to the scene, wounding a Roane County deputy in the arm, hand, and stomach. The responding officers returned fire, killing the subject.

Before he joined the State Police, Eric was a star baseball player at West Virginia State University and made the All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team in 2008 and 2009. He was named conference player of the year in 2009. He broke numerous school records and ranks first in games played, runs scored, hits, doubles and triples. 

Police officials stated that Eric was an outstanding young man with a promising future. West Virginia lost a brave young man when Eric died. 

His favourite hobby was fishing. 

Eric is survived by many loving friends and relatives. 

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Dino Taylor - Law Enforcement - Maryland

Police Officer Forrest Dino Taylor, age 44, died on August 29, 2012, in Maryland, of complications from surgery. 

He was a member of the Baltimore City Police Department. 

Dino had been injured in a vehicle crash while responding to a backup call for other officers on February 18, 2012 - over six months ago.  During the emergency response an SUV ran a red light and struck his patrol car, pushing it into a utility pole. 

Dino suffered severe injuries that required multiple surgeries. He had undergone another surgery on August 29th, 2012, and passed away the following day as a result of complications of the surgery.

Dino was born in Annapolis, Maryland. He was an ordained minister as well as a police officer. 

His interests included motorcycles, storytelling, drawing, cooking and tattoos. 

Dino is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his brothers Jacque Cowen; Clarence Chino Taylor Jr., Delbert Howard; Lawrence Paco Taylor; his wife, Ambre Taylor; his children Tristan and Milada Millie Taylor.

Pray for all who die from injuries sustained while in the line of duty.

Robert Poate

Australian soldier Private Robert Poate, age 23, of Canberra, died on August 29, 2012, in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan.

He was shot by a renegade Afghan soldier. 

He was a member of the 3RAR Task Group based at Brisbane's Gallipoli Barracks.

Robert enlisted in the Army in 2009.

He was sometimes teased for his reddish hair which he vehemently defended as "strawberry blonde". 

Robert is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Hugh and Janny; and his sister, Nicola.

James Martin

Australian soldier Sapper James Martin, age 21, died on August 29, 2012, in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan.

He was shot by a renegade local Afghan soldier. 

He was a member of the 3RAR Task Group based at Brisbane's Gallipoli Barracks.

James enlisted in the Army in 2011.

Military officials describe him as an intellectual soldier who was well respected by his comrades and was considered a loyal friend and comrade. 

He was also a big fan of Australian football and enjoyed playing bass guitar for his mates. 

James is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Suzanne Thomas; his younger brother, Angus; his sister, Holly; and his grandparents, Lucille and Ralph Thomas. 

Pray for the 21 year olds who die in combat. Yesterday, they were just boys.

Stjepan Rick Milosevic

Australian soldier Lance Corporal Stjepan Milosevic, age 40, died on August 29, 2012, in Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan.

He was shot by a renegade local Afghan soldier. 

He was a member of the 3RAR Task Group based at Brisbane's Gallipoli Barracks.

He was born in Penrith in New South Wales. He joined the army in 2008. He deployed to Iraq in 2010.

Mary, pray for Rick

Military officials describe Stjepan as a much-liked and respected member of his regiment. His leadership and professional abilities stood out in the unit, on the rugby field and on operations. He was also a devoted family man. 

Stjepan was known as Rick to his family and Milo to his fellow soldiers.

Rick is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his wife and two children.

Let us pray that Stjepan Rick Milosevic is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Mervyn McDonald

Australian Soldier Lance Corporal Mervyn McDonald, age 30, from Western Australia, died on August 30, 2012, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

He was killed when his helicopter crashed while attempting to land during a mission. 

He was a member of the 2nd Commando Regiment.

He had enlisted in 1999, served for 5 years and left in 2004 and then re-enlisted in 2005. He had served in East Timor and was on his sixth deployment to Afghanistan.

Military officials describe Mervyn as a positive influence on all around him and a dedicated and professional soldier.  

Family members describe Mervyn as a top guy with a heart of gold. They are proud of him and of his service to his country. He loved the Army and made his career there. 

Mervyn is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother and step-father; his 3 brothers; and his fiancee.

Nathanael Galagher

Australian Soldier Private Nathanael Galagher, age 23, from Wee Waa in New South Wales, died on August 30, 2012, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

He was killed when his helicopter crashed while attempting to land during a mission. 

He was a member of the 2nd Commando Regiment. 

Nathanael enlisted in 2007 and was on his second deployment to Afghanistan.

Military officials stated that Nathanael always put 100 percent into everything he did, was enthusiastic and was well respected by his mates. 

Nathanael is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his parents, his sister and his partner, Jessie.
