Jeremie Border

Staff Sgt. Jeremie Border, age 28, of Mesquite, Texas, died on September 1, 2012, in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained from an insurgent attack. 

He was a Green Beret. 

Jeremie graduated from Mesquite High School in 2002. He was a 2006 graduate of McMurry University where he majored in sociology and communications and also played football for 4 years. He was also involved in the university's Servant Leadership program, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Makona Men's Social Club. He was a resident assistant and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

Friends describe him as a great kid, intelligent and very active in sports. He is also their hero. 

Family members describe Jeremie as a special and loving young man who will be forever missed. 

Jeremie is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Mary Border; his stepfather, Robert Harris and his sister. 

Let us pray that Jeremie Border is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
