Military officials describe him as having outstanding leadership potential, mischievous and family oriented.
He was sometimes teased for his reddish hair which he vehemently defended as "strawberry blonde".
Robert is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Hugh and Janny; and his sister, Nicola.
Let us pray that Robert Poate is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
