Jaliah Cross |
Around 9 p.m., Jaliah went to a store near her home. Jaliah was crossing the street when she was struck by a dark sedan or a gray Camaro which fled the scene without stopping.
Jaliah was rushed to a nearby hospital where, tragically, she succumbed to her injuries.
It happened so fast that witnesses could not get the license plate number. Local residents have stated that speeding is a problem in the area.
If you have any information about this tragic incident, you are urged to call the Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. You can remain anonymous and there is a $3,000. reward for information leading to the conviction of the hit and run driver.
The Cross family experienced a similar tragedy in 2014 when an 8 year old cousin of Jaliah's was struck and killed by a hit and run driver. The driver in that instance was apprehended by the authorities.
Jaliah was a sophomore at Dillard High School. She was already looking forward to her Sweet 16 birthday party in March of 2016.
Friends describe Jaliah as a nurturing girl with a fun personality. She liked to sing.
Angels of God, pray for Jaliah and for those who have lost her. |
Jaliah's loved ones are devastated over her sudden and tragic death. She was a good girl who was very intelligent, very caring and respectful. She was well loved by her family. She was just a kid starting out in life. She will be forever mourned.
Jaliah is survived by many loving friends and family members including her mother, Felissa Williams.
Pray for all who die suddenly. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.
Pray for justice for Jaliah.
God save us from those who strike us down on the road and then run away like wolves. Amen.
Pray that Jaliah is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
