Elvalide Ndiaye - Clerk killed in robbery in Indianapolis, Indiana

Elvalide Ndiaye, age 39, died on September 25, 2013, at a gas station and convenience store on the west side of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Elvalide was a clerk at the Rickers BP. He was shot in the stomach in an attempted robbery just after 3:00 a.m. Police believe that he put up no resistance to the robbers.

He was transported to a local hospital where he tragically passed away.

It was only his second day on the job. This was a second job for him because he wanted to raise funds to visit his sick mother back home.

He and his family had just moved back to Indianapolis two months ago.

Elvalide was born in Senegal, Africa. His wife will be fundraising to send his body back to his homeland for burial.

Three suspects (two men and a woman) were arrested in connection with the robbery and the killing - Shayne Thompson, age 19, Jania Hudson, age 20, and Ryan Clark, age 20, all of Indianapolis. They have preliminarily been charged with murder, robbery and resisting law enforcement.

Police ask anyone with information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.

Loved ones describe Elvalide as a wonderful man who was happy and who made
Gabriel, Archangel, who stands
in the presence of God, pray
for Elvalide
others happy.

The wife of Elvalide said about the killers: “All I can do is pray for them. Not only have they ruined our lives, but their own lives for just a few dollars.”

Many local activists are pushing for the convenience store industry to adopt better security precautions for employees. There are too many repeated killings during robbery attempts.

Elvalide is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother back in Senegal, and his wife, Tanya Ndiaye.

Pray for justice for Elvalide.  Amen.

God save us from the thieves who stalk the Earth.  They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Elvalide is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
