Jason was a member of the Willoughby Police Department. He had 9 years of service with the Department. Previously he had served for six years as a Cleveland Clinic police officer. Before that, he served the Timberlake Police Department as an officer for one year.

Jason grew up in Eastlake. He was a 1999 graduate from Eastlake North High School and graduated from Tri-C's Police Academy in 2002.
He was the 2009 Willoughby Police Officer of the Year. Jason took great pride in his profession. He was proud to be a cop.
Family members stated that Jason was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He is also described as having a great sense of humor. He was a hero to his family.
Jason is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Pamela and his father, Nicholas; his siblings Nicholas, Carol, George and Brett; his wife Sandra Mae; and his daughter, Olivia Mae.
Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
Pray for all who die young and suddenly. They are with us one moment and tragically gone the next. God help us.
Let us pray that Jason Gresko is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

I am with Eastlake PD and have been a close friend of Jason's for many years. He was always there backing me up on traffic stops and calls near the border making sure I was safe. As I move forward, it's going to be tough knowing he will not be there.
I am honored to have had Jason as a close friend and to have known someone who was a gift and exceptional officer - to the law enforcement profession.
