Jason Goodding - Police Officer Fatality - Seaside, Oregon

Police Sergeant Jason Goodding, age 39, died in the line of duty on February 5, 2016, on a street in Seaside, Oregon.

Jason Goodding
Sergeant Goodding was a member of the Seaside Police Department. He had 13 years of service.

Seaside is a city in Clatsop County with a population of about 6,500.

At about 9:30 p.m., Jason and another officer were on patrol when they noticed Philip Ferry walking on a downtown street. Philip Ferry had an active felony warrant for assault. Jason and the other officer attempted to arrest Philip Ferry. He resisted arrest and was tasered.  He fell to the ground but when Jason attempted to handcuff him, he pulled out a gun and shot Jason.

Tragically Jason died at the scene.

The other officer was able to return fire and shot Philip Ferry who later died in hospital. Philip Ferry had been in jail 41 times. He was bad news from the word go. He had a rap sheet like Judas.

Jason had attended Sherwood High School in Sherwood, Oregon and later graduated from Portland State University. He was a volunteer sports coach.

Friends describe Jason as a caring man who will be forever missed in his community.

Michael, Patron Saint of the Police, pray for Jason and
for those who have lost him.
A funding site, to help the family with expenses, has been set up at the Oregon Fallen Badge Foundation. Click on the "donate to OFBF" link on the home page and then enter "for the Goodding family" into the memo line of the PayPal donation page.

The Seaside Police Department is in mourning over the death of their brother. Jason was an asset to the Department and was well-respected and well-liked by all who knew him. He will be forever remembered.

Jason's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Jason is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and his two daughters.

Thank you for your service to the community, Jason.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

God save us from the psychopaths. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Jason is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Josh Cyganik - a Good Samaritan in Pendleton, Oregon

Josh Cyganik is a railroad track inspector for the Union Pacific Railroad. He is stationed in Pendleton, Oregon.

Josh Cyganik (L); Leonard Bullock (R)
For the past four years, when he has left for work he has waved to a neighbor, Leonard Bullock, age 75.  They didn't really talk.

One morning in July of 2015, Josh saw two teenagers in front of Leonard's house and they were saying:  "Look at this crappy house. They just need to burn it down!"

Josh saw that Leonard heard these comments and could see that the man was troubled by those remarks.  Leonard is a retired forklift operator and he and his wife, Dorothy, live on a small pension and can't afford to fix up the house.

The Good Samaritan reaches
out to others in need, selflessly.
Josh stepped up and decided to help Leonard and Dorothy. He approached some of his railroad comrades and went to social media asking for volunteers to paint the house.

A nearby Tum-a-Lum Lumber store graciously donated the paint for the project and some lumber for a repair to the porch.

About 20 volunteers showed up on July 18, 2015, and the house was freshly painted. By the end of day about 100 people had volunteered at the house. Starbucks donated water and iced tea.

The porch was fixed and some new patio furniture was donated to the couple.

Josh is currently searching for a roofing company to volunteer to fix the shingles on the house.

Josh thanks all who contributed to making this project a success. He says that he was raised to respect his elders and to extend kindness to those who don't have much.

Josh is a Good Samaritan.

God bless him and all who come to the aid of strangers. Amen.

Aimie Zdrantan - a victim of murder in Hillsboro, Oregon

Aimie Zdrantan, age 24, died on August 29, 2014, at her apartment in Hillsboro, Oregon.

She was stabbed to death.

Aimie Zdrantan;  Eric Petersen
No one has been arrested in connection with this crime as of this posting. However her boyfriend, Eric Petersen, age 24, is a person of interest and has been arrested in connection with a parole violation.

Aimie and Eric Petersen had a troubled history together. They did a lot of drinking and partying, but Aimie wanted to make a better life for herself and for her daughter, who turns 3 next month.  It has been reported that Eric didn't like this idea much.

In March of 2013, Eric Petersen had threatened Aimie with a weapon.

In May of 2013, Aimie was granted a restraining order against Eric. She alleged that he manhandled her and threw her to the ground. The restraining order expired in May of 2014.

In June of 2013, Eric Petersen was convicted of the weapon's charge and was sentenced to probation, anger management classes and drug classes. After this sentence, he often failed to report to his probation officer, didn't seek employment and stopped attending the drug and anger management classes he was supposed to attend.

In the interim, relatives stated that Aimie was trying to work things out with Eric because he is the father of her daughter.

Eric Petersen is innocent until charged and proven guilty of any crime in connection

with Aimie's death. However, it has been reported that neighbors heard Aimie and Eric fighting on the day of her death.

It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to come to the conclusion that either Aimie and Eric were fighting on the day of her death, he left the scene and then someone else entered her apartment and killed her; OR, Eric Petersen killed her.

Regardless of Eric Petersen's guilt or not in this tragedy, he is nonetheless bad news from the word go. Any woman who comes across this dude should run, not walk, away.

Aimie was working part time at a grocery store to help support her young daughter.

Aimie's family is devastated by her needless and tragic death. She is described as having a bubbly personality and was fun to be around. She was just starting out in life. She will be forever mourned.

Advice to Women in Abusive Relationships: If you are with a man who slaps you around, beats you up, or threatens you with a gun or knife, your happiness and your life will forever be in jeopardy. Try to get away today. You may want love, but abuse is not love.

Aimie is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her father, Steven Zdrantan; and her daughter, Lexi.

God save us from those who say they love us, and then kill us. Amen.

Pray that Aimie is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Jessica Dutro - a Mother on trial for murdering her 4 year old son in Tigard, Oregon

Zachary at an earlier age
Zachary Dutro-Boggess, age 4, of Tigard, Oregon, died on August 16, 2012, at a hospital in Portland, Oregon.

The details of this little boy's death are muddied and convoluted.

On August 14, 2012, paramedics responded to a Tigard homeless shelter and found Zachary injured. He was taken to the hospital where it was determined he had several holes in his bowels from being kicked or repeatedly punched in the abdomen. Bruises were all over his body. He had deep cuts on his lips. He was taken off of life support two days later and tragically passed away.

It is alleged that on August 12, 2012, Jessica Dutro, age 25, the boy's mother and her
Jessica Dutro (L); Brian Canady (R)
boyfriend, Brian Canady, age 24, kicked and punched the boy, fatally injuring him.

Jessica Dutro is charged with murder, murder by abuse and second-degree assault.

Brian Canady pleaded guilty earlier in March to first degree manslaughter and second degree assault resulting in the boy's death. He admitted that he kicked the boy in the stomach because he wouldn't sit still and watch T.V. He also admitted to routinely physically abusing the boy.

It has also been reported that Jessica had determined that Zachary could be gay and she was not happy with that.  She wanted him to be disciplined and straightened up.

Zachary's 7 year old sister told the Police: “Jessica and Brian, they kept hitting him and punching him. He didn’t listen to them so they kicked him and punched him and stuff and they kept doing it and doing it.” She also said that they knew Zachary was sick (after the beating), but they didn't tell anybody. The boy's body went limp and his eyes rolled in his head.

Doctors found that the next oldest brother of Zachary had five broken ribs in different

stages of healing. The 7 year old sister had extensive bruising all over her body. The only uninjured child was the infant son fathered by Brian Canady.

It has been reported that on the day that Zachary's life support was pulled, Jessica Dutro searched on a computer for the terms "anger management", "parenting classes", "free stuff" and "sex with strangers".

These questions arise....Since homeless shelters should have paid supervising staff on hand and also have other shelter residents milling about who both see and hear the activities of the shelter's residents, where was everybody when all of this kicking, beating, punching, hollering and crying was going on? Why did nobody speak up? Or is this shelter allowed by the City of Tigard to be a total unmonitored zoo?

Were Jessica Dutro or Brian Canady receiving social assistance?  If so, where was the Social Services Department and the Child Protective Services Department?

Pray for justice for Zachary.

We know that Zachary is playing in the fields of Heaven.

Pray for all children who are tortured and abused.  God help us. Amen.
