Daniel Rebman - Fatality - South Carolina Highway Patrol

Trooper Daniel Rebman, age 31, died in the line of duty on October 24, 2017, at a hospital in Greenville, South Carolina.

Trooper Rebman was a member of the South Carolina Highway Patrol. He had over one year of service as a Trooper in Greenville.

During the early morning hours, Daniel was on duty in Greenville County. He was parked on the shoulder of I-385. At about 12:20 a.m., a pickup truck swerved into his patrol car from behind and Daniel was trapped inside.

Daniel was rushed to a local hospital where, tragically, he died of his injuries.

The circumstances of the accident are under investigation. 

Daniel was originally from Florida, and was currently living in Taylors, South Carolina. He began his career in the Charleston area before being transferred to Greenville. He was a dispatcher in Greenville County from 2012 to 2016.

Friends stated that Daniel was a friendly man who would go out of his way to help others. He loved his family greatly.

The members of the South Carolina Highway Patrol are in mourning over the death of their brother. Daniel loved being a Trooper. He was well-respected and well-liked by his comrades. He died in the service of others. Daniel will be forever remembered.

Daniel's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was loving and was loved in return. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Daniel is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his parents, siblings, his wife, Michelle, and his three young daughters.

Thank you for your service to South Carolina, Daniel.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Daniel is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
