Nathan Taylor - Fatality - California Highway Patrol

Officer Nathan Taylor, age 35, of Rocklin, California, died in the line of duty on March 13, 2016, at a hospital in Reno, Nevada.

Officer Taylor was a member of the California Highway Patrol. He had 6 years of service. He was stationed at the Gold Run Office of the Highway Patrol.

During the afternoon of March 12, 2016, Nathan was directing traffic at the scene of an accident on a highway near Donner Summit in northern California.

An oncoming vehicle changed lanes and sped up past slower traffic. Conditions were snowy. The female driver lost control of her vehicle and struck Nathan. It is not believed at this time that the driver was impaired.

Nathan was rushed to a hospital in Nevada where, tragically, he died of his injuries the next day.

One of Nathan's brothers is also an officer with the California Highway Patrol.

The California Highway Patrol is in is in mourning over the death of their brother. Nathan was a dedicated officer with a kind spirit. He was helpful to others. He will be forever remembered.

Nathan's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was loving and was loved in return. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Nathan is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his parents, his two brothers, his wife and his three sons.

Thank you for your service to California, Nathan.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone the next.

Pray that Nathan is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
