Thomas Rush - a Good Samaritan in Minnesota

Thomas Rush
On January 12, 2016, just after 9:00 a.m., Thomas Rush, age 35, of Grandy, Minnesota, was driving through Linwood, Minnesota. He was off work that day and was going home after dropping his son off at school.

Thomas came upon a head-on vehicle crash in which a pickup truck burst into flames. He rushed to help in whatever way he could.

Through the smoke, he noticed a small child in the truck's back seat. He managed to undo the girl's seatbelt and pulled her to safety. Just then the truck's cab was engulfed with flames.

Another passerby, Bonnie Moyer, cared for the girl until firefighters and paramedics arrived on scene. Bonnie stated that the child was shaken up but unharmed.

The driver of the pickup truck was, Genie Ann Mohr, age 73, of Columbus, Minnesota, who is the child's great-grandmother. It is reported that she accidentally crossed the center line and ran into oncoming traffic.

Her truck struck an SUV driven by Curtis Duran, age 64, from Mound, Minnesota.
The Good Samaritan comes to the aid
of strangers in distress.

Tragically, both Genie Ann Mohr and Curtis Duran died on site of injuries sustained from this horrific collision.

The circumstances of the accident are under investigation.

The authorities have stated that the intervention of Thomas Rush saved the life of the female child.

Thomas has two children of his own and stated that he didn't think twice about rushing to the child's aid. He would hope that others would do the same in similar circumstances.

Thomas is a Good Samaritan.

God bless Thomas Rush and who all come to the aid of strangers. Amen.

Pray for Genie Ann Mohr and for Curtis Duran who died in this tragic accident. Pray that they are at peace and are with God. Amen.
