Joshua Woods - Firefighter - North Carolina

Joshua Woods
Firefighter Joshua Woods, age 24, died in the line of duty on January 12, 2016, on a roadway in Chatham County, North Carolina.

Firefighter Woods was a volunteer member of the Siler City Fire Department. He had almost three years of service.

Siler City is a town in Chatham County, North Carolina, with a population of just over 8,000.

After 1:00 a.m., Joshua was driving his own vehicle to an emergency call when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch and then into two trees. Tragically, Joshua died at the scene.

Speed may have been a factor in the accident.

Joshua worked full-time at a local restaurant. He and his wife have two children and are expecting a third.

The Siler City Fire Department is in mourning over the death of their young brother. He loved firefighting. He was a great guy who was an asset to the Department. He was quick to help others. He will be forever remembered.

Joshua's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. His mother stated that Joshua was her everything, her baby. He was loved in the community. He

cared about others. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Joshua is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his mother, Jackie Woods; and his wife and two children with another child on the way.

Thank you for your service to the community, Joshua.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Joshua is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
