Joey Resto - a Good Samaritan in New York City

Joey Resto, age 23, was riding on the Downtown A train in New York City on January 8, 2016.

Joey Resto giving his shirt to a homeless man
He noticed a homeless man in the subway car. The homeless man was shirtless and shivering. The man was emitting an odor and other riders were sitting as far away from him as they could.

Joey later stated that it was freezing that night and the man looked both cold and hungry. The homeless man was in rough shape and was frail and weak.

Joey took off his own shirt and managed to get it on the homeless man. He also took off his own hat and gave it to the man as well.

Joey was unaware that another subway rider, Lazaro Nolasco, was filming the incident on his cellphone.
The Good Samaritan comes to the
aid of strangers in trouble.

Lazaro later posted the video to the Internet as a tribute to the kindness he witnessed.

The video is available here.

Joey stated that he also invited the homeless man to his apartment in Brooklyn for more clothes and for something to eat but the man fell asleep after he was given the shirt and hat.

Joey hopes that everyone will help those who are helpless.

Joey stepped up and helped a stranger in distress.

Joey is a Good Samaritan.

God bless Joey Resto and who all come to the aid of strangers. Amen.
