His family attributes his death to unrelenting on-line bullying from other high school students. He was maligned about his appearance. Messages on social media stated such comments as "Let's put him in a body bag" and "We're going to put him six feet under."

Family members stated that David just wanted to be accepted. His family also wants everyone to be aware of the harm and injury that comes about from bullying.

The night of his death, David had read an on-line text about him that pushed him over the edge. After reading what others had written about him, he stared into the distance for what seemed like an hour.

David had attended Alamo Heights High School but transferred out to a private school because of bullying. He was in therapy. However, the bullying from the previous school was kept up on the Internet.

The police are investigating the bullying aspect of David's tragic death.

Saint Bernadette of Lourdes who said
"I am ground like a grain of wheat",
pray for David and for all who are
ground down by bullying.
