Mike Raugi - a Good Samaritan in Washington State

Mike Raugi, age 42, of Pierce County, Washington, died on December 2, 2015, on an Interstate Highway, two miles east of Kittitas, Washington.

At about 5:00 p.m. Mike was returning home from work when he came across an accident scene. Someone was trapped in a rolled-over vehicle and Mike went to see if he could help.

While standing outside of his vehicle Mike was hit by another vehicle that lost control. Tragically, he died at the scene.

Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the accident. The road conditions were icy. The weather was dark and stormy. It may all have been due to a set of deadly circumstances.

A Funding Site has been set up to help the family with expenses.

The members of the Ironworkers Union, Local 416, are in mourning over the death of their brother. Mike was well-respected by his comrades.

Friends describe Mike as a generous and kind man who could be counted on for help.
Light a candle for Mike. Light his way to Heaven.
They are not surprised that he died while coming to the aid of others, because he was just that type of man. He will be forever remembered.

Mike's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was a loving husband and father. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.


Mike is survived by many loving friends and family members including his wife, Chrystal; his son, Anthony; and his daughters Reganne and Kylie.

Mike was a Good Samaritan who came to the aid of others in distress.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Mike is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
