Barbarism Alert - Egyptian Christians beheaded by ISIS Terrorists

Sometime shortly before February 15, 2015, the ISIS Terrorist group beheaded 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians on a beach in Libya.

Inhumanity on a beach in Libya
The 21 Egyptians had been captured in late December of 2014 and early January of 2015. The men were all from poor areas of Egypt who went to Libya in search of work and the promise of much higher wages than can be found at home.

The video shows a large group of men in orange jumpsuits being led by a group of ISIS terrorists down a beach. The handcuffed captive men are made to kneel and each is then beheaded by the terrorist standing behind him. The video is reportedly captioned: “The people of the cross, followers of the hostile Egyptian church.”

One of the terrorists with a knife in his hand states in the video: "Safety for you crusaders is something you can only wish for"......We will conquer Rome by the will of Allah."

"Crusaders" is the Medieval Islamic term for Christians and "Rome" is the Medieval Islamic term for Christendom in general and for Europe in particular.

These murders are not confirmed but the video appears to be real and similar to other ISIS videos documenting the deaths of their captives.

ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) or IS (Islamic State) is a terrorist organisation which claims religious and political authority over all Muslims. Its ambition is to establish a caliphate to control Muslim regions of the Middle East including Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Cyprus and parts of Turkey. They are also attempting to expand into the North African Muslim countries of Libya, Tunisia and Algeria.

The current leader or Caliph of the Islamic State is Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, age 43.
Angels of God, pray for the men
who were so mercilessly murdered.
Some reports state that he was killed in November 2014 in an Iraqi bombing raid near the Iraq-Syria border. Other reports state that he was injured but survived. Either way, someone is in control of ISIS and continues the carnage.

Copts in Egypt constitute the largest Christian community in the Middle East. They account for about 10 percent of the Egyptian population. Most Copts adhere to the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. There are also Coptic Catholic and Protestant Churches.

ISIS is slowly gaining ground in Libya which is slowly becoming more divided, politically fractured and lawless.

In retaliation for this atrocity, Egyptian jets have bombed ISIS targets in Libya hitting some of their military camps and weapons depots.

The barbarity of it all is unspeakable. It is difficult to believe that such atrocities continue to be undertaken in the name of religion and politics in the 21st century. What man with a soul stands behind a stranger and saws off his head with a knife?

Pray for the 21 Egyptians who were so mercilessly murdered. Oceans of tears will be shed for these men.

God save us from this insanity. Amen.
