Randy Parker - a Firefighter fatality in Macon, Georgia

Lieutenant Randy Parker, age 46, died in the line of duty on February 11, 2015, at a hospital in Macon, Georgia.

Lt. Parker was a member of the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department. He had 25 years of service. He worked out of Station 7. 

Just before 6:00 p.m. a fire broke out at a single story brick house in south Macon. The residents of the house escaped. 

Randy was one of the responding firefighters. Firefighters were inside the front door when the floor collapsed and several firefighters fell into the basement.

Randy died of smoke inhalation and burns.  Five other firefighters were injured during the incident. 

Randy was a native of Bossier City, Louisiana.  

The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department is in mourning over the death of their brother. He is described as a good man, a strong man and a brave man who did his best. He was a team player and he had a sense of humor. He will be forever remembered.

1990's he had been severely injured when he was struck by a vehicle while jogging. In 2000 his former wife was killed in a car accident.

Randy's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

Randy is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife, Sandie and his sons, Andrew and Chandler.
