Sean Renfro - Law Enforcement Fatality - Colorado

Sean Renfro
Sergeant Sean Renfro died on January 3, 2015, on a highway north of Conifer, Colorado.

Sergeant Renfro was a member of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. He had 15 years of service.

Sean was off duty and was driving on a local highway during the afternoon. Road conditions were icy with blowing snow. He came across a vehicle accident scene and stopped to provide assistance.  An SUV had run off the road.

Then Sean's truck was rear-ended by a passenger sedan but no injuries were reported. Sean was assisting Colorado State troopers by directing traffic around the original accident scene. Then another SUV lost control, crossed the center line and struck Sean and another man. A State trooper was injured by flying debris. Tragically, Sean died at the scene.

No charges have been filed, but the crash is still under investigation. If you witnessed any of this, you are urged to call 303-239-4501.
