Steven Allen - Canadian Military - accident victim

Private Steven Allen, age 20, died in the line of duty on November 5, 2014, at a hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

Steven Allen
Private Allen was training to join the infantry at the 3rd Canadian Division Training Centre in Wainwright, Alberta.

On November 3, 2014, he and another soldier were inside of a "lookout post" which is a wooden structure built on a shipping container and surrounded by sandbags.  The structure collapsed and Private Allen was seriously injured. He was flown to a hospital in Edmonton.  Tragically two days later he passed away.

The other soldier sustained only minor injuries.

The construction and use of all such lookout post structures should be immediately suspended pending an investigation into the cause of the failure.

Steven was originally from Windsor, Ontario.  His family moved to Victoria, British Columbia, when he was 16 years old.

He joined the Canadian Army in October of 2013.  He completed his basic training in February of 2014.

Steven's military comrades are in mourning over the death of their young brother. He
Light a candle for Steven.
Light his way to Heaven.
will be forever remembered.

Steven's family members are devastated by his sudden and tragic death. It was his dream from childhood to join the military. They describe him as strong, brave, happy and a warrior. He will be forever mourned.

Steven is survived by many loving comrades, friends and relatives including his parents and his younger brother.

Oceans of tears will be shed for this young man.

Pray for all who die at age 20. They barely had a chance to live.

Thank you for serving, Steven.

Pray for all who die by misadventure.  They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Steven is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
