Pierre Daoust - a Good Samaritan in Ontario, Canada

Pierre Daoust
During the evening of November 4, 2014, Pierre Daoust and his wife were at home in the Dunrobin area of Ottawa, Ontario.

They heard a loud noise outside. Pierre went outside to investigate. He saw that a car had plunged into the nearby Ottawa River. Pierre's wife called 911.

Pierre called out to the person in the car but got no response. It was raining outside and chilly but Pierre waded into the very cold river. When he got next to the car he could hear the driver inside. She was knocking on the glass. The doors wouldn't open but she managed to open the window as water rushed into the vehicle.

Pierre was able to pull the young woman to shore. She was

very shaken up but was okay.

It is not known, at this time, why the car ended up in the river.

Pierre stated that firemen, paramedics and police all arrived at the scene within minutes. He stated that they did a tremendous job including a volunteer firefighter who tended to the driver and to him.

Pierre Daoust is a Good Samaritan.

God bless Pierre Daoust, his wife and all who come to the aid of strangers. Amen.

Good Samaritans are heroes of the modern era.
