Jamie Blalack - a Store Clerk murdered in Salt Lake City, Utah

Jamie Blalack
Jamie Blalack, age 29, died on November 2, 2014, at a convenience store in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Jamie was a clerk at a 7-Eleven, working the overnight shift.  At about 1:20 a.m., a man came into the store and an argument ensued about cigarettes. It has not been stated what caused the argument. It seemed to be about what type of cigarettes were available.  Jamie told the man to leave the store.  The customer left the store and fired one shot through a window which struck Jamie Blalack in the head and killed him. He died at the scene. The suspect fled the scene.

Anthony Cline
The assailant was tracked by the police to a motel in Woods Cross, Utah.  Anthony Cline, age 30, was arrested for murder. He lives in Taylorsville, Utah. Nobody knows what he was doing in Woods Cross.

He has a previous but relatively minor criminal record for possession of dope and criminal trespass.

Customers said that Jamie had worked at the store for a long time.  They described him as friendly and efficient.  He always had a smile on his face and he was genuinely helpful.  He remembered his clients and asked about them and their families.

This wasn't even a robbery.  Jamie Blalack is a victim of the American Gun Culture in general and the National Rifle Association (NRA) and others who think it is just fine to carry a weapon into a food store or a gas station.  Anthony Cline, apparently didn't go to his vehicle to retrieve a gun.  He had it on him. Just like Utah in 1860.

Hi there.  You better have my
brand of cigarettes.....
And now the gun advocates are going to come to this jerk's defense, saying "Well, he wasn't robbing the place and he didn't go into the store with the intention of killing anyone. He just made a poor decision."

God help us.  God save us from this stupidity.  It boggles the mind that "frontier thinking" like this exists in the 21st century.

Jamie's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

Jamie is survived by many loving friends and family members.

Pray for all who go to work and who die there.

God save us from the Lost Ones who bring death to strangers.

Pray that Jamie is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
