Kellen Fleming - Firefighter-Paramedic - South Carolina

Firefighter-Paramedic Kellen Andrew Fleming, age 29, of Chesnee, died on November 1, 2014, at a hospital in South Carolina.

Kellen Fleming was a member of the Westview-Fairforest Fire Department in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He had 10 years of service.

At about 2:00 a.m., Kellen suffered a cardiac incident in the bunkroom of the firehouse. His comrades treated him at the scene. He was rushed to a local hospital where he again went into cardiac arrest. Tragically, he passed away.

His death is considered to be a line of duty death because he had responded to several emergencies in the hours leading up to his death.

Kellen was also a volunteer with the Chesnee Community Fire Department.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Spartanburg.

The Westview-Fairforest Fire Department is in mourning over the death of their young brother. He will be forever remembered. 

Friends stated that he was a good man who did his best.

Kellen's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

Kellen is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his mother, Cathy Leichter; his half brother, Kasey Leichter; and his wife Amy Fleming. Kellen was predeceased by his father, Eric Fleming and his step-father, Robert Leichter.

Thank you for your service to the community, Kellen.

Pray that Kellen is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
