Laura Yandall - a victim of Drunk Driving in Sacramento, California

Laura and her son
Laura Yandall, age 44, of Sacramento, died on September 18, 2014, at a hospital in Sacramento, California.

Laura was walking on the city sidewalk in South Sacramento just before 6:00 p.m. She had her 2 year old son with her. She was going home from work.

Fidel Tococh, age 27, was driving by and because he was drunk, drove the car onto the sidewalk, striking Laura. He then crashed into an electrical pole and hit another car.  Then a third car crashed into the back of the second car.

Fidel sped off but was eventually stopped by the Police.

Fidel Tococh
He has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, felony hit and run, driving without a license and other charges.

The child was not injured.  Laura was rushed to a local hospital where tragically she passed away.

Friends describe Laura as a great woman and a great friend to many people. She will be forever remembered.

There is a fundraising site to help with funeral expenses at www.gofundme.com/eqsl4o

To All Drivers: If you find that you are drunk or doped up on street drugs or prescription drugs or if you are falling asleep on your feet, do NOT drive. Call a family member or a friend for a ride; or take a taxi; or stay where you are until you sober up; or crawl home on your hands and knees. It will be better for you and for the world if you do.

Regret can last a lifetime.

Laura's family are devastated by her sudden and tragic death. She will be forever mourned.
Jesus, pray for Laura and for
those who have lost her

Laura is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her six daughters and her young son.

Pray for justice for Laura.

God save us from the drunk and the doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father.

Pray that Laura is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God.  Amen.

Thank you for posting this up. This was actually my stepmom and that's my little brother in that picture. It feels like a dream every time I think about you being gone or even when I drive past the crime scene where it happened at. It just doesn’t feel real at all. To the guy who did this, I pray that he really feels guilty for what he did, you didn’t deserve that. Nobody deserves to go through anything like that. He scarred my little brother, with him only being 3 at time he knew exactly what happened to her and he could tell the story of what happened to her. It’s not worth it to get behind that wheel taking a chance of either taking your life or someone else’s. Nobody thinks about the consequences and repercussions of what could possibly happen after the damage is done. I also had a previous experience with drinking and driving with someone else in my family, and by the grace of God they came out of the accident alive. It’s not worth it at all. I really wish that I could speak to her again and tell her that I’m sorry for being mad at her for not showing up to my baby shower. My daughter was born a day after her birthday too, that’s also what was crazy to me. I miss and wish I could get 1 more phone call of you saying to me “Girl, your brother looks just like you” and talking about my dad. My dad misses you dearly still and thinks about you all the time and talks about you. But the good ones always go. God knew what you were going through and he set you free and called his daughter back home. You’re not suffering anymore. No more pain and no more hurt. You were a good mother and you did whatever you could for your kids. You made many sacrifices to provide for your family. You will forever be missed, loved and in our hearts. Tell my grandma that I miss and love her too.
Much love,
From your stepdaughter,
Tamara
