Lucy Knight - a Good Samaritan attacked in Auckland, New Zealand

Lucy Knight, age 43, was attacked on September 23, 2014, outside of a supermarket on Auckland's North Shore.
Lucy Knight

An elderly woman was making a withdrawal from an Automated Teller Machine outside of the supermarket when a young man believed to be in his late teens or early 20's, grabbed for the woman's wallet and handbag.

Lucky Knight was in the company of two of her children (ages 2 and 4) when she noticed this crime taking place and came to the aid of the woman being robbed.  The thief punched Lucy and knocked her to the ground.  He then fled the scene in a white station wagon.

The elderly robbery victim was not injured.  However, Lucy suffered a fractured skull with bleeding on the brain and had to undergo emergency surgery.

The thief, who is described as a Maori or Pacific Islander, is still at large as of this
