Satchel Ramos - a Good Samaritan killed in Rhode Island

Satchel Ramos, age 22, died on March 2, 2014, in Federal Hill, Providence, Rhode Island.

Satchel was out with his brother, Clyde Ramos, age 26, late on a Saturday night. They were on the street and tried to intervene in a street brawl. Several people were fighting.

Satchel and his brother were both attacked by the brawlers. Satchel was beaten, kicked and stabbed.

Justin Santerri, age 32, and Linda Ficher, age 28, were arrested in connection with the murder of Satchel Ramos.

Family members are devastated by the senseless death of Satchel. They will forever miss him.

Stepping up to stop a fight was just what Satchel would do.

Satchel Ramos attended The Sound School in New Haven until his junior year. School officials there describe him as bright with a lot of potential. He is also described as thoughtful and humorous.

Friends stated that he was a wonderful young man from a loving family. He is

In 2010, he had spent several months serving with City Year, on a team working with teachers at Gilbert Stuart Middle School and with the Providence Afterschool Alliance.

Satchel is survived by many loving friends and family members including his parents Eliot Righter Ramos and Rafael Ramos; and his siblings - Sharis, Guy, Justin, Clyde, Teresa and Jaya.

Pray for justice for Satchel.

Pray for the Good Samaritans who come to the aid of strangers and who die because of it.

God save us from the Lost Ones who bring death to strangers.

Pray that Satchel is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
