Aaron Torian - U.S. Military

Master Sgt. Aaron C. Torian, age 36, of Paducah, Kentucky, died on February 15, 2014, while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to 2d Marine Special Operations Battalion, Marine Special Operations Regiment, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

It has been reported that Aaron was killed by the explosion of an improvised explosive device.

This was his sixth combat deployment.

His comrades are in mourning over the death of their brother.

In 2006, he was named 2nd Marine Division’s 2005 non-commissioned officer of the year for the superb performance of his duties during military efforts to gain control of

Fallujah, Iraq. He excelled in job performance, physical fitness and leadership skills.

At home, Aaron was a member of the Heartland Worship Center in Paducah.

Friends describe Aaron as diligent, dedicated and caring. He was patriotic and felt that his role in the military was of positive use. He loved being a marine.

Aaron is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Esta Smith; his wife and his three children.

Thank you for serving, Aaron.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Aaron.

Pray that Aaron is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
