David Allford - Law Enforcement - Oklahoma

Deputy Sheriff David Allford, age 37, of Wetumka, Oklahoma, died in the line of duty on September 11, 2013, on a highway in Oklahoma.

David was a member of the Okfuskee County Sheriff's Office. He had 13 years of service.

David was responding to backup a state trooper who was attempting to arrest a suspected drunk driver. He was travelling on a local highway when one of the tires on his patrol vehicle blew out. The blowout caused the patrol vehicle to strike a cable barrier which caused the vehicle to overturn twice. David was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. He passed away at the scene of the accident.

David was a U.S. Army veteran.

David is described as a great guy, someone who would go the extra mile to help

He loved his wife and two children and talked about them all the time.

Friends stated that many in the community are heartbroken over this tragedy.

The Sheriff's Office is in mourning over the death of their comrade.

David is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Becky and their two children Shelby and Wyatt.
