Mitchell Daehling - U.S. Military

Spc. Mitchell K. Daehling, age 24, of Dalton, Massachusetts, died on May 14, 2013, in Sanjaray, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Mitchell graduated from Wahconah High School in 2006.

High school officials describe him as a nice kid, unassuming and friendly. He is also described as positive and likable.

Friends describe him as a good student, a good teammate and a good son.

Mitchell also attended Daniel Webster College in Nashua, New Hampshire. He planned on graduating from college after the military, but was interested in joining either the
Light a candle for Mitchell.
Light his way to Heaven. 
Department of Homeland Security or the FBI after receiving his degree.

Mitchell joined the Army in September of 2010.

Family members stated that Mitchell wanted to be deployed to Afghanistan. He felt that it was something that he needed to do.

Mitchell is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Brenda and Kirk Daehling; his brother, Adam; his sister, Kayla; and his wife, Samantha.

Thank you for serving, Mitchell.

Let us pray that Mitchell is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
