Both men were National Guardsmen with the 1st Battalion, 294th Infantry Regiment - Guam.
They were riding in a convoy when a suicide bomber rammed them.
The ensuing explosion killed: Spc. Flores; Sgt. Aguon; 4 American Civilian contractors; 7 Afghan adults; and 2 Afghan children. Thirty-five people were wounded in the attack.
The Island of Guam is in a state of mourning over the deaths of Spc. Flores and Sgt. Aguon.
Eugene Aguon and Dwayne Flores left Guam on March 2, 2013, for a month of pre-deployment training at Camp Shelby in Mississippi. They arrived in Afghanistan in the first weeks of April.
Eugene Aguon was a graduate of George Washington High School. His friends called him Gene.

Dwayne is described as helpful to his comrades.
Eugene and Dwayne are survived by many loving friends, comrades and relatives.
