Barrett Austin - U.S. Military

Pfc. Barrett L. Austin, age 20, of Easley, South Carolina, died on April 21, 2013, in Landstuhl, Germany, of injuries sustained when his vehicle was attacked by an enemy improvised explosive device in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, on April 17, 2013.

Barrett was assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.

He had attended Dacusville and Pickens High Schools. 


High School officials stated that Barrett was a fine young man, a good student and was likable.

Barrett is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents; his sister; and his wife, Heather.

Pray for the 20 year olds who die in combat. Yesterday, they were just boys. Amen.

Thank you for serving, Barrett. 

Let us pray that Barrett is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
