Elahmadi Goba - murdered on the job - in Chicago

Elahmadi Goba, age 40, died on November 13, 2012, in a convenience store located in Chicago's Gresham neighborhood.

Elahmadi, known as "Eli" to the locals, was a clerk at the N & A Food Market. He was working his evening shift when he was shot and killed during a robbery of the store.

Police are still looking for the gunmen as of this posting. Two men were shown on video cameras inside the store and several more milling around outside.

A protective glass partition near the register wasn't enough to stop the bullets. Elahmadi was shot in the chest while his hands were up in the air.
Angels of God, pray for Elahmadi

Elahmadi was from Yemen and was working to send money back to his wife who lives there. He had been working at the store for about 5 months.

Local residents are very upset. They describe him as a kind, considerate, caring and helpful man. It was also said that he sometimes gave patrons food for free if they didn't have enough money to pay him.

God save us from the thieves. Amen.

God save us from the Lost Ones who stalk the Earth stealing away life. Amen.

Let us pray that Elahmadi Goba is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
