Mark Taulbee - Law Enforcement - Kentucky

Police Officer Mark Taulbee, age 43, died in the line of duty on September 16, 2012, in LaRue County, Kentucky.

Mark was a member of the Hodgenville Police Department. He had 13 months of service with the Department.  Mark had previously served with the Morgan Police Department and the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

Mark had responded to a domestic disturbance and, upon arriving, was informed that a male subject had just taken a vehicle without permission and left the scene. Officer Taulbee pursued the vehicle at high speeds until his vehicle left the roadway and crashed at about 3: 25 a.m.  He was wearing his seatbelt but was ejected from the vehicle.

The subject continued to flee but turned himself in later in the morning and faces multiple charges.

Family members describe Mark as a devoted father and an excellent police officer, who died doing what he loved to do.

Police officials stated that Mark was like a family member and can't be replaced.

Mark is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Elizabeth; his daughter, Audra and his son, Austin.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Thank you for serving, Mark.
