Christopher Raible

Lt. Col. Christopher K. Raible, age 40, of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, died on September 15, 2012, in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained from enemy fire.

He was assigned to Marine Attack Squadron 211, Marine Aircraft Group 13, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).  He was a Harrier jet pilot and Commander of the Arizona-based Marine Attack Squadron 211 dubbed “The Avengers.” 

Chris grew up in Irwin, Pennsylvania and graduated from Norwin High School in 1990.

Chris graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1995 with a degree in Civil Engineering.

He had served in Iraq and was on his second tour in Afghanistan.

Friends describe him as a scholar, athlete and family man.

Family members said that he died defending all that he held dear. 

Christopher is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother and father; and his wife and three children - two daughters ages 11 and 9 and a 2 year old son. 

Let us pray that Christopher Raible is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
