Alec Terwiske

Lance Cpl. Alec R. Terwiske, age 21, of Dubois, Indiana, died on September 3, 2012, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. His parent command was Inspector/Instructor Staff, 4th Tank Battalion, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Fort Knox, Kentucky.

He deployed to Afghanistan in April. This was his first tour there.

Stairway to Heaven
Family members said that joining the Marines was what Alec had always wanted to do. He was really proud to be a Marine.

Family members describe him as a giant teddy bear, a jokester, and helpful - always lending a helping hand. They will forever miss his smile.

Alec is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents Sandy and Alan Terwiske; his sisters Ashlee and Codi; and his brother, Brant.

Pray for the 21 year olds who die in War. Yesterday, they were just boys.

Let us pray that Alec Terwiske is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
