Sterling Wyatt

Spc. Sterling W. Wyatt, age 21, of Columbia, Missouri, died on July 11, 2012, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when his vehicle was attacked with an enemy improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Sterling graduated from Rock Bridge High School in 2009. 

Family members stated that Sterling joined the military with open eyes and a willing heart. He knew that he could be deployed to a danger zone. He is also described as giving and helpful and community oriented. 

Friends describe Sterling as loyal to his family and friends and a person who could get you to smile. 

Angels of God, pray for Sterling.
Sterling is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Sherry Wyatt; his father, Randy Wyatt and his brother.

Pray for the 21 year olds who die in combat. Yesterday, they were just boys.

Let us pray that Sterling Wyatt is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Sterling was a Boy Scout with me in my troop. He and I both made it to Eagle Scout and he was always a mentor to the younger Scouts.
