Leonard Thomas

British Warrant Officer Leonard Perran Thomas, age 44, died on July 1, 2012, in Nahr-e-Saraj, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

He was involved with training local Afghan policemen, when a man dressed in a police uniform gunned him down from a watchtower.

He was a member of the Royal Signal Corps. He was from Cornwall. Friends and comrades called him "Pez".

Leonard spent 15 years in the Army before leaving in 2005. He was a reservist who volunteered to go to Afghanistan with his old Welsh Guards regiment.

Saint Dominic, pray for Pez
Family members describe him as a military man, through and through, who died doing what he wanted to do.

Military comrades stated that Leonard wanted to make a difference.

Leonard is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Sylvia; his brother, Tristan; and his partner Rachel Prosser, who is also in the Army.

Let us pray that Leonard Thomas is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
