Michael Strachota

Sgt. Michael Strachota, age 28, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died on June 24, 2012, in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.

He was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and assigned to the 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary). 

It has been reported that his death was due to an explosion due to a road accident. The military has not released information as of this posting. 

Michael was due to return home this week for 2 weeks after spending 9 months in Afghanistan.

Michael joined the military in 2007. He had previously served a tour of duty in Iraq. 

Family members describe Michael as a good person, a good husband and a devoted father, who will be forever missed. He is also described as generous, friendly and kind-hearted. 

Michael is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Linda Baxter; his father, Patrick Strachota; his wife Lauren Strachota and his young son, Will Strachota.

Let us pray that Michael Strachota is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
