Robert Massarelli

Staff Sgt. Robert A. Massarelli, age 32, of Ohio, died on June 24, 2012, in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.

It has been reported that Robert's vehicle struck an improvised explosive device, but this has not been confirmed by the military as of this posting.

He was assigned to the US Army's 96th Transportation Company out of Fort Hood, Texas.

Robert was known as Bobby to his family and friends.
Gabriel, Archangel, pray for Bobby

He graduated from East Kentwood High School in Michigan, in 1998 prior to joining the Army. He left the military in July of 2001, but rejoined a few years later.

He had served 3 tours of duty in Iraq before his current tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Family members describe him as fun loving, focused and patriotic.

Military comrades stated that Robert helped keep them sane and that he was a soldier among soldiers.

Robert is survived by many loving friends and family members including his parents, Pat and Mary Massarelli; and his brothers Michael and Benjamin.

Let us pray that Robert Massarelli is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
