He was a volunteer member of the Summerville Fire and Rescue Department.
He was known as "Donnie" to his family and friends.
Donnie retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant.

He had responded to an emergency call at about 11:00 a.m. on June 10, 2012. In the evening of that day, he collapsed. He was taken to the hospital where he passed away the next day of an apparent heart attack.
Friends describe him as a wonderful person who made others laugh.
Donnie is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother Hilda; his brother, Ronald; his wife, Deloris and their son, Johnathan.
Pray for all who die from performing their duties.
Let us pray that Donnie Suggs is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
