Barett McNabb

Sgt. 1st Class Barett W. McNabb, age 33, of Chino Valley, Arizona, died on June 12, 2012, in Khakrez, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when he was attacked by an enemy improvised explosive device. 

Barett McNabb was assigned to the 562nd Engineer Company, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Barett enlisted in the Army in November of 1999. He was deployed to Afghanistan in April. He had previously served twice in Iraq and once in Kuwait.

Military officials describe him as an inspirational and highly motivated leader who always put the needs of his comrades before his own. It was also stated that he was quick with a smile and a joke and that he had an uplifting personality. 

Barett is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Georgette; stepdaughter, Jessica and son, Jacob.

Let us pray that Barett McNabb is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
