Julian Chase

Sgt. Julian C. Chase, age 22, of Edgewater, Maryland, died on May 28, 2012, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. 

He was assigned to 5th Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Okinawa, Japan.

Julian graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Northwest Washington. He joined the Marine Corps in September of 2008. 

His service awards include the Purple Heart, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

Military officials describe him as a great example of a sergeant of Marines and a mentor to all who knew him. They stated that he will be greatly missed. 

Family members stated that Julian wanted to be a soldier, even as a child. 

Friends of Julian said that they are devastated and shaken by his death. He is described as a nice kid, strong, polite, humble and friendly. 

Julian is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his mother, Bell Clement.

Let us pray that Julian Chase is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
