Fernando Jorge - Coast Guard

Chief Petty Officer Fernando Jorge, age 39, Cypress Valley, California, died on February 28, 2012, in Alabama.

Fernando was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard and was on a training exercise with three other men when their helicopter crashed into Mobile Bay.

Fernando was a rescue swimmer whose motto was "every day we could save a life". Fernando had joined the Guard at age 19 and had 20 years of service.

Friends describe him as a mentor and a man who was dedicated to his country. He is also described as competitive, friendly, out-going and well liked. 

Fernando is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his adoptive mother, Debbie Barnes and her daughter, Stephanie. 

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Fernando Jorge is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen

I just visited the memorial in honor of the four who died on the grounds of the aviation training center at Mobile, AL. (My nephew is stationed here). May Mr. Jorge rest in peace. I thank him for his service.
