Conner Lowry

Cpl. Conner T. Lowry, age 24, of Chicago, Illinois, died on March 1, 2012, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. 

Upon graduating high school in 2006, he went to Kirkwood Community College in Iowa for a couple of years before deciding to enlist in the Marines in 2008 with a couple of buddies. This was his second deployment to Afghanistan.

His personal service awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with bronze star device, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with two silver star devices, and the NATO Medal-ISAF Afghanistan with bronze star device.

Family members stated that Conner always wanted to serve others and that is why he served our country. They also describe him as handsome, vibrant and popular. 

Conner is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his mother, Modie Lavin; sister Grace Lavin; another sister and two brothers.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Conner Lowry is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
