David Rixon - Law Enforcement - Australia

Senior Constable David Rixon, age 40, died in the line of duty on March 2, 2012, in Tamworth, New South Wales, Australia.

David was a member of the Tamworth Highway Patrol.

At about 8:00 a.m., David pulled over a suspicious vehicle for a routine check. He approached the car only to be confronted by a 47-year-old man with a gun. A short scuffle broke out and David was shot and killed.

Police apprehended an injured man, who is currently under police guard in hospital, while a second suspect was captured after a short search.
Michael, Archangel, Patron
Saint of the Police, pray for David and
for his children who have lost
their father.

David joined the Department in 1990 as a teenager, and has spent time serving in Tamworth, Gunnedah, Waratah, Belmont and Hamilton.

Police officials describe David as a real person and a great man.

Family members describe him as a wonderful father, husband and police officer, who will never be forgotten.

David is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his wife, Fiona, and six children.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that David Rixon is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
