He was a member of the Pompano Beach Fire Department in Florida. He had 23 years of service.
William was engaged in a training exercise on an aerial ladder, when he fell 90 feet to the ground. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead.
Fire Department officials stated that he was one of the most skilled people and responsible people they know. Bill was one of the best firefighters they had in Pompano's history.

Friends describe him as helpful and polite, kind and patient.
Bill is survived by many loving friends, comrades and relatives, including his parents and a brother and sister.
Pray for all who die in the line of duty.
Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that William Elliott is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
