Samuel Butler - Firefighter - North Carolina

Firefighter Samuel Butler, age 52, died on January 8, 2012, in North Carolina.

He was the Chief of the Evans Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department, in Maxton, North Carolina. He had 21 years of service with the Department.

He also served as the president of the Robeson County Firemen's Association.

Samuel was responding to a call for assistance at an auto accident on a local highway, when his vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer. He passed away at the scene due to the impact of the crash. 

Local officials describe Sam as an all-around guy who wanted nothing more than to serve his community. They stated that he will be greatly missed. 

Sam is survived by many loving friends and family members.

Pray for all who die while coming to the aid of others.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Samuel Butler is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
