Christopher Patterson

Spc. Christopher A. Patterson, age 20, of Aurora, Illinois, died on January 6, 2012, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device.

He was assigned to the 81st Troop Command, Indiana National Guard, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Christopher Patterson, grew up in Aurora in a military family. Both his mother and father have served in the Military. He was a 2009 graduate of West Aurora High School, and was a music education major at Valparaiso University. He was attending Valparaiso University when he joined the Indiana National Guard.

Friends describe Christopher as a young man who loved life and who cared about others. He is also described as a thoughtful and sensitive man. 

Christopher is survived by many loving friends and relatives including his parents, Robert and Mary Patterson; and his younger brother, Carl. 

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Christopher Patterson is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen
